A Regal Expedition in Mali: Nathan’s Creative Chronicles

A Regal Expedition in Mali: Nathan’s Creative Chronicles

Nervously, I climbed off my camel and took a sip of my water from my bottle. I stared in awe at an amazing sight, a palace much bigger than I expected filled the sky! The hot dry ground burned my toes as I walked to an adventure. I could see two soldiers wrapped in gold guarding the giant palace. Hushed voices filled the air as I walked even closer. People walked to and fro crowding around the palace. I pushed through the tremendous crowd only to see the mighty Mansa Musa himself!

The entire crowd bowed their heads and then went their separate ways. The Mighty Mansa Musa went inside the palace. I stood there still staring at the building paved in gold and saw that there was a golden, hefty, opaque dome in the middle of the palace on the roof. I strode into the palace glancing at the fine gold patterns on the walls. I touched the walls of the palace and walked down the hallway. I could see four golden pillars reaching nearly touching the magnificent sea blue sky!

I can’t wait till I get back to tell my family about this breathtaking palace. Everything I could see was paved in gold even the people! I had heard stories about Mansa Musa and about all the great things he had done: given money and gold to the poor, established eighty universities, built several mosques, conquered Algeria and much more. My family said that it would be great to go see this “Mali” so I went and now here I am, I do not regret coming here. As I continued walking down the corridor, I turned a corner to feast my eyes to a magnificent sight… the throne room!
