My Hobby: TAEKWONDO by CHINONSO

Taekwondo is my favourite sports. It is a traditional Korean Martial Art which was developed in the 1940s and 1950s by a Korean martial artist called General Choi and it became an official medal sport at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.

I started Taekwondo by age three. The benefits of partaking in Taekwondo are

  • improve body strength
  • self-discipline
  • focus

I am also required to wear a suit called Dobok and it is worn with a belt. This belt comes in different colours according to the level or grade achieved.

There are different types of belts

  • White
  • yellow
  • orange
  • green
  • blue
  • brown
  • red
  • black

This sports also helps me to be structured, confident and bold.

I would recommend that parents consider registering their children in this sport to help teach or improve discipline, independent and confidence.
