What Colour Is My World by Samuel Elutilo

What Colour is My World by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Raymond Obstfeld

It is the story of Ella and Herbie, a brother/sister who’ve moved to a house that needs some work. There they meet Mr Mital the handyman. Mr Mital shares with them the things that African-Americans have done including science and medicine.

I would recommend this book to children in Grade 4, Grade 5 and Grade 6 because of the vocabulary. 8-12 would be a perfect age and it would be good for older children who like a childish layout.

In my opinion, Mr Mital is my favourite character because he’s a master of stealth (a bit like James Bond). Also he’s very intelligent like me.
